Parishes seeing first fruits of ChristLife as ministries, participation grow By Jerry Zufelt Editor GREENSBURG — Parishes that have been participating in the ChristLife evangelization model are beginning to reap its benefits, according to Greg Petrucci, director of evangelization. “Parishes are seeing a rise in volun-teerism and people returning to recon-ciliation,” he said. At a June meeting in Latrobe of approximately 65 ChristLife core team members from 14 parishes, the majority of the leaders said they are happy with its success and plan to continue using the model, Petrucci said. ( See parish list on page 16. ) Approximately 2,300 people in the diocese have participated in at least one of the three ChristLife segments — Dis-covering Christ, Following Christ and Sharing Christ — and approximately 1,500 have participated in all three ses-sions, Petrucci said. “Parishes are getting some people back who have been away for a while because people have asked them back, which is the focus of the third segment,” he said. Petrucci said the overall goal of a parish evangelization effort is to change hearts and help people “develop a rela-tionship with the Lord.” ChristLife was established by David Nodar in 1995 in the Archdiocese of Balti-more. Nodar will lead a diocesan training Sept 9-10 at St. Barbara Parish, Harrison City.
